The understanding for Christmas gifts has always been that everyone buys for the kids and the pils. There are only 4 children. 3 are bil's and one is DH's. So for the past two years we have given gifts to bil's kids and he has not given anything to SDS.
This is unfair to SDS, especially this year as he was the only kid without anything to open because the grandparents helped buy him a computer that he already opened a few days before and we open our gifts as a nuclear family on Christmas day.
He doesn't say anything, but it makes DH and I kind of offended, but we don't want to make a scene at Christmas dinner so we just say our goodbyes and leave.
What should we say, if anything, to bil? We don't want to involve the pils, of course.and we don't even know if it is worth it because if bil doesn't care to show an effort then telling him it's shitty probably won't matter to him either.
We let it go last year because we didn't know what to do, but now it feels like we should not do that. What do you all think?
