"Changes in the family"

So SMIL was never my favorite. But now, as I am BEC with MIL I have grown to appreciate her more. She recently was diagnosed with fibromyalgia. She has talked about it every time we got together (which isn't that much) and how it affects her diet.

The way she approached it wasn't irritating at all to me. She didn't seem like she was just trying to get attention, either. Just more like she was talking about it as a way of coping. No big deal. And it totally sucks for her.

Well she recently sent me this message on Facebook: "I know this article is long but if you could read this with DH it would answer questions and help us with the changes in the family." There was a link to an article: http://shadowsoffibromyalgia.wordpress.com/category/coping-and-stages-of-illness/

I don't know how to take this. DH says she is trying to get attention. We don't ask them for much. (We asked once a few months ago for her to watch DD, but she said no and we understood completely) other than that we see them once every 3 months or so.

Did we offend her by asking her to watch dd? (Which would be weird because she asked to watch her a month or so after that AND we didn't make a big deal about it when she did say no) or is this more for attention?

Also, how do I reply? If it's for attention I don't mind BHing. But if it's not, I don't know how to answer.
