Dh and I have done so good at keeping Pils at bay and swatting down unplanned visits, etc. As an update, I am expecting number 2 in Oct 2014. I never posted about my first baby (lo) but we had some delivery room drama and I am DETERMINED to not let it happen this time. So, I have dropped the rope since about Jan, as in I no longer call MIL, dont respond to calls, let all go through DH. I have essentially turned a cold shoulder to all.
FF to now- LO just had her first bday a few weeks ago. My family was not there and could not make it (distance) Fil shows up all angry and upset becase they wanted to throw a party and we said no since it was their friends and family, not ours. Fil makes snide comments on how he only sees GD once a month, and she wont know who her gps are, and that he doesnt need permission to visit his own son's house. He said we were mean and heartless people that did not care about their needs. He looks at my one year old and says- whyare your parents are keeping us apart?...
Dh says- stop talking to us through her! If you have something you want to say... say it to my face. Fil stands up to leave
Im preg...and hormonal and begin to cry because It is lo's bday, and dh looks so sad as well. He picks up my daughter and says Dad, don't ruin my daughters bday, and walks out the door. I sit there with them for a moment and then walk out too... They left shortly after this in a huff after this.
We have not heard them since end of june. no calls or texts. UNTIL last night MIL rugsweeped the whole thing, and asks how we are doing, and when the next time we are meeting is.
I want a TO so bad. Dh does not agree. But I have told DH no more visits, I dont want to see them because they cause me to stress. But, I know this stalemate can't go on forever.
