Visited the in-laws last night... It took about 5 minutes for me to irritate my MIL. (wasn't trying)
She was super eager to show me a picture of her other new grandbaby eating a sucker. He's just hit 5 months, and she was talking about how much he loved it... None of my business, I'm not his mother. Then she commented how she couldn't wait for thanksgiving so she could spoil both grandkids because she knew mine would love sweets just as much.
My DD will be 4 months that week... I looked at my lo, and said "yep, that would be fun. Hug? But mean ole mommy isn't letting you start solid foods that soon. It'll have to wait until after the holidays"
(maybe passive aggressive? Not sure... But it seemed better than arguing and she didn't comment right away)
After the 4th relative held her, she got just a bit fussy... She was hungry. So I sat with her and covered myself while I fed. The covers at I on kept going and everything was fine. Then, it was mentioned that my baby seemed so content and happy when she was in my arms, and definitely a mommy's girl.
Mil's response- "most boob babies are... That's all they want, and they won't develop a normal relationship with anyone else. That's why DD doesn't like anybody"
She's 7 weeks FFS, what does she expect?
