Does it need to be fair (christmas drama)

Here's the deal I'm getting ready to get divorced. Stbxduh kept picking his family I got sick of it. The last few holidays were peaceful. Thanksgiving was celebrated at home just us. We are different religions. So I celebrate Hanukkah and Christmas as I grew up in an interfaith family. My Stbxduh grew up christian. So Hanukkah mostly at home maybe one night at my parents.

Here's where it's gets complicated. Both of our families do something on Christmas Eve. His entire extended family gets together. I don't get along with most of them. Their Christmas Eve celebration is mostly drinking all adults and very formal. They are all older and the only child is my sil's son who is 5. I won't even get started but I keep my kids away from that child. My family is just my mom, dad, sister her four kids my brother his fiancée and their 2 kids.

My kids absolutely love seeing my family. They love playing with their cousins and love my sister like a second mom. My nieces are the same way love my kids and love me like a second mom. So of course add the holidays it's loud crazy and so much fun.

Here's is this years problems exmil is suddenly wanting to play gmoty. All the years before she didn't care whatsoever. Truth be told she doesn't like kids. She's playing on xduhs emotions begging him to bring the kids. He expects me to hand over our youngest two (ours) so he can take them. I said no way. I think it's cruel to send a 5 and 3 year old formal all adult event where they are expected to be seen and not heard. Especially when they could be having a blast and being normal kids with their cousins. Xduh says it's not fair. Since they see my kids for day at Hanukkah and have seen them almost every Christmas Eve before. So give it to me straight ladies is their anyway to make this fair? I would rather not let me kids go with him. He's not willing to split time he wants the whole day and I'm not willing to go that. So any ideas?
