Why would anyone want a newborn to spend the night at their house?

My MIL has asked multiple times if my 2 month old could spend the night at her house. Um, no. First off, he is exclusively breastfed and I am not giving him formula. I told her this and also mentioned that I don't have enough stored breastmilk for a sleepover to happen anyway and she says "Oh, we can figure that out." But besides that, the real reason is no, I'm not letting my 2 month old spend the night away from me, with anyone, period, and I've told her this.

Mainly, my question is why would anyone want someone else's newborn spending the night at their house? My kid wakes up twice a night. Why would you want that? Also, MIL let her kids cry it out and once told me a horrible story about how she let one of her sons cry it out and he screamed non-stop for 8 hours straight. "But he never did it again!" so of course it was OK. I would really be worried that she would try to "train" LO!

So no, it will NEVER happen, but I'm just confused why anyone would WANT that? Maybe I am being cynical?
