My MIL & SIL have absolutely no boundaries around me, and its a problem. Im newly married with my DH and Im trying to get used to his family and their trying to get used to me. however... When they step into my home they make me feel as though I'm the GUEST in my own house. They take complete control and always try to lecture..they call it "teaching" me on how to clean this and do that (Their way). My MIL will just do me and my husbands laundry. (I think its really innapropriate and it makes me feel uncomfortable, as I dont like anyone looking at me or my husbands dirty draws/clothes except me.) She'll literally just walk into my room without even knocking on the door. I mean what if I was naked and getting dressed? Thank god the times she did it...I was just sitting on the computer. She also will look through me and my husbands closets and dressers and re fold things, or tell me to fold something this way or put this there or here. I can never have any of my cleaning supplies untouched. theyll come in and mess with all my sponges and cleaning supplies. Both my SIL and MIL will also dictate to me what and what not to buy. For example, if were walking through a market and im just looking at something theyll tell me "no not now". I think because im a foreigner in their country and dont speak their language they dont know how to handle me and instead treat me like a child...no matter how much I try to assert myself as an adult to them. When I wake up in the morning with my Husband to make him breakfast before work, his mom will wake up as well (so irritating cause she found out the time we wake up and set her own alarm) and shell just barge in the kitchen and take control of making breakfast. Ill tell her numerous times in their language "please let me do it, relax" "I know" but she just doesnt listen. She talks to me like I dont know how to make an omelette or fry an egg. I got so ticked one time I just wanted to walk outta the kitchen and leave it all to her. The other day I found her in my room and she said to me "did you dust the window" and I understand what they say in their language but I cant speak yet. but I told her "yes I cleaned already" she then snaps at me and says "oh you cleaned it" "look!" and she rubs her finger over the window seal and like a tiny bit of dust was on her finger. she then looks at the rest of the window and realizes that it was cleaned. and she just walks off. I was so irritated i then told my husband that from now on were keeping the bedroom door shut when she comes over. But I need a lock still cause she will just barge in. I dont know what to do. She treats me like a kid, not a wife a women with a husband and a child on the way.
