The big worry was that when my ILs went to visit my SIL in NZ that I would go into labor and they would miss my son being born....
Well, in a sad an unexpected turn of events, their beloved lab passed away last night. :( Everything happened pretty quick and it seems he went peacefully at home, before his vet appt the following morning (he hates the vet, so I'm kind of glad he didn't have to go...). He was 12 and in decent health.
My husband and his cousin who was house-sitting have handled everything and are getting remains. At this point we have not told his parents bc they only see my SIL once/year and he thought it would be best if they don't spend the next week grieving the puppy. They will return this Friday. We are pretty sure waiting to tell them is the right thing to do, but I don't know if we are in the minority....
Hive mind... what do you think?
