My dad has always been an ass. He was abusive to us kids growing up and totally manipulates my mom and lies all the time. Recently we've had a major blow up...details not important. I've stood my ground and told him he's an ass etc. etc. he will take zero responsibility for his lie, manipulation and rude comments he's made about me and my husband. My mom has no backbone and will not stand up to him. I've decided enough is enough and want him to stay away from us. At least for awhile. Problem is that I will not see my mom. She is my best friend. Having a lo now complicates this situation, but I'm so sick of him ruining every family gathering and everyone having to tip toe around him. They are suppose to come for Xmas and I've uninvited them. Anyone else been in this situation? Advice? It just feels like lose/lose :( My family and extended family are also super mad at him and don't want him for X-mas. My Mom was the one to suggest not having him around at X-mas because it will ruin it for everyone
