DH and I have a 3 month old that I EBF.
Well as they were getting the food to the table (my ILs), DD got hungry. I sat in the living room nursing while they ate. They were all done when I came to eat. I didn't expect them to wait for me or anything. However I also didn't expect them to literally stare at me while I ate and clean up all around me, and stand there asking if I was full yet so they could take all the food away. I ended up wolfing down a plate of food in 3 minutes bc they were all just lingering and staring. It was bizarre.
ILs are very generous but I noticed they got my nephews way more gifts than my daughter. I know she is only 3 months but she will need toys throughout her first year. I felt sad my daughter got a couple toys while the boys were opening these huge expensive gifts. They don't have to get anyone anything but if they do I feel it should be fair. I hope this changes as DD gets older.
