OT-How to respond to PE teacher work Comments

My first thought was write an email because it was way out of line.

My second thought was I can't say anything because she will have this teacher for 4 more years.

Third thought...welll damn,,I am a jader so how do I keep a note to her short.

I know you guys can help with quick to the point shut downs and this is eating me up and I have to address it.

My DD is 7. Since she was 6 months old she has had severe allergies. Nasal sprays twice daily, post nasal drip that is just awful and a laundry list of things to do to prevent a flare up. Fall and spring are not her friends. She tends to have flare up real bad and constant runny nose with a small cough. It's her life unfortunately. We make sure each year we inform her grade teacher of her medical issue so they don't contanstly think she has a cold. They have been wonderful and just let her keep a box of tissue at her desk. THEN yesterday the PE teacher(PET) actually made me feel like I was a shitty parent. I know I am the only one that can control how someone else makes me feel but I am torn up about it.

DD informed the PE she didn't feel well and wanted to sit out of pe. PET asked if I knew she didn't feel well. DD said yes. PE teacher then said "Well does she work"? DD said no my father works. PE teacher said "Well does you brother stay at home or go to preschool?" DD said mostly at home but does to MDO twice a week for a couple hours" PET then said HUH...well why didn't you stay home. I am irked.

Never once sent DD to the office to call me or see nurse. Just asked questions about home life.

DD also told her grade teacher. Her grade teacher said...It's your allergies and you will be fine. Let me know if your head is hurting and then we will go to the office.  THAT is great. That is what is supposed to happen.

Am I angry over nothing? I just can't put my finger on why this was such a overstep.

Edited to fix grammer
