Do you ever do things out of obligation to your family members?
For example, a close relative has a birthday party which you don't really want to attend but feel like you need to show up as it's expected that you be there, so you go.
Or maybe, a close relative wants to meet up with you when visiting your city and you don't want to meet up, but feel obligated to do so because they expect to see you, so you go.
Or maybe you would rather be having some quiet time but a famly members wants to chat incessantly on the phone, so you listen even though you want to put the phone down and do something else instead.
These are just ramdom examples - the point being, do you put your family's needs before you own out a feeling of guilt/obligation to do so? I do this sometime and am not sure if I'm being a doormat or if this is the norm out there.
