We are going back to home town 4000 km away. We are going back after 2 years to tie up some loose ends that need tying. We left behind stuff that we need to get.
Issue#1- My aunt was supposed to be out of the country still and we asked if we could rent her town house for the week. She said that it wouldn't be a problem and that she would arrange for the neighbour to give us the key and the wifi password etc. Great, her place would be perfect for us.
This past weekend she called to say that she would be back in the country but it wouldn't be a problem for us to stay. She had plans for us to do "stuff" for her as well as taking us out. Now on top of her plans for us, we have 2.5 year old that is like the average 2.5 year old in terms of how much work goes into him. We also have to sort through, sell, repackage and ship our belongings that we had left behind. We don't have time nor the inclination to be at her bec and call.
My aunt and I had a great and enmeshed relationship once upon a time. She is kind but sometimes expects repayment for her kindness. I love her but am now wary of her. She is the only one who ever had a kind word for me throughout my life but she is also a total bitch. We are looking for another place to stay but I know she will be pissed. Help me write an email. I want it to be succinct. I'd like our relationship to be cordial henceforth.
