There is a lot of background but I will try to cut to the chase. The situation is that I am remarried and have one child and one on the way with my current husband. I have children from my previous marriage that I have custody of and they visit their bio dad sporadically throughout the year.
My ex dh is much older than I am and when I married him he had a child from a previous marriage who he had no contact with. This child is now in her late 20's and lives in a different state and has never met my children (her half siblings). She wants nothing to do with my ex and hasn't seen him since she was 4. My kids know about her.
My current Dh really likes a certain baby name that coincidently happens to be the same name as their older half sibling.
So you know what is coming next... would it be too weird or tacky to use the name for a younger sibling? Would using a variation of the name be too weird and tacky?
