ANYWAYS!
Like stated, MOO is an L&D nurse at the hospital I will be delivering at. I had my csection scheduled for September 8th, she'll work the night before but SHOULD go home after her shift ends. I'll have the csection during day shift. I went ahead and registered at the hospital and explained that I wanted to be registered as private, apparently they were out of the forms that I needed in order to complete my registry as private. Hmm. I got the number for patient advocate and have left a message, waiting on a response now.
After registering though, I went and spoke with the unit manager for L&D and explained the concerns I have regarding my mom. I told her that I'm sure she fully intends on staying after her shift so that she can have access to my baby regardless of the fact that I want her to go home and not come back until invited. She doesn't have another shift for the next two days anyways, so there really isn't a reason to be at the hospital. I told her that when my mom does come back to visit, that I expect her to be treated as a VISITOR with none of the perks of being an employee. (Don't want her to have access to the nursery, no bands, no sneaking, no checking records, etc.) She said I need to be sure to let my mom know that she needs to go home after her shift and not stay until after my operation, and that as long as I let her know that's what I want, then they can go in and enforce it for me should she ignore my wishes. Seems as if it's going to be a tricky situation, or that's how it seemed at least.
My mom has been hinting really bad at the fact that she wants to be in the OR with me. I told her my husband would be there, and that's final. She said "I work there for goodness sakes, I could be in there as a second person!" Ok, don't care. Don't want you there. That's really concerning me though, that I've been firm with not wanting her in the room since 25 weeks or so, and she's now starting to push even harder about wanting to be included. Makes me feel like she's going to sneak in and be peaking around the curtain...
She's also starting to get defensive at the fact that my MIL will be coming down to meet baby after she's born (which I'm totally cool with becAuse my MIL hasn't boundary stomped once, and surprisingly just wants to visit for a few hours then leave.) She's out of state so I rarely see her. My mom says "SHE BETTER NOT BE ALLOWED IN THE OR, ILL BE SERIOUSLY PISSED SINCE IIMMMMMM NOT EVEN ALLOWED IN."
My rule stands for both mom's, neither are allowed in. Jeez.
Anyways, I wanted to update everyone, and I'll be continuously updating from this point on. Any extra advice would be greatly appreciated!
