Alright y'all know me duhs got a HUGE enmeshed family back home a state away and I am continually annoyed/smothered by them, on very sporadic visits.
I feel like they ruined my Thanksgiving.
Here's how it went down. I stood my ground this year and told duh I and the wee one would not be travelling anywhere for the holidays this year. He agreed. We made Thanksgiving plans to host for my parents and his 4 cousins whom live in town (and I looove). I was very happy with 10 of us.
The morning of duh gets a text from his sis saying they are in the area and they have nowhere to go on Thanksgiving. Apparently her husbands family failed to tell them they were going somewhere else that day and they were hosting the day after. Leaving them high and dry. Sil was not clear on whether bil knew this and it just slipped his mind or what.
Of course I invite the 6 of them over because contrary to popular belief I am not a cold hearted bitch. My mom and I proceed to work our already worn butts off to make a couple extra dishes so we will have enough food. Of course I was stressed and panicked the entire time and the baby was upset and couldnt nap cause it was so loud.
I feel I would have never invited my family of 6 to Thanksgiving last minute.
I know it was my choice to invite them. Lesson learned. I will never host anything on a holiday again.
