am I weirded out for no reason?

I cant seem to get my brain around this. My lo is 4 weeks old and my mil has been real weird. It started prior to her birth, my mil talked about how she was making a nursery and stuff. Well I could see having some hand me down furniture or whatever. My mom (now passed) had a crib from the 70s set up in our dining room when my niece was born. So id guess that's typical grandma. Although my sister had severe postpartum depression so my mom had my niece often. Then she started getting things, like an infant carseat and base.. which puzzled me because logically you'd get the base that goes with our carseat? Well anyway. I'm close to my sil and she'd tell me how excited my mil was and how she'd frequently state how their lives were changing and she'd cry... wait wait.. mine and her son's life were changing. We were never overly close to mil, they live 45 mins away. Sil told me that my mil sits up every night crying over a picture of my lo now that she is here. The first week we brought her home I made it clear that I wanted to have no drop by visitors because I was learning to bf. This caused my mil to get emotional and state she wasn't gonna come unless we asked her to. Of course dh broke down and did it. Then she comes by, she brings a gift from one of my dh former coworkers, a hand made baby blanket. We run up to the grocery store and come back and my mil removed the blanket the baby was sleeping in to cover her with the hand made one. Ok, that's cute. Then she gets ready to leave and takes the blanket too lol. She also took a video of my baby making her sleep sounds, and apparently watches every night and cries. And then for xmas she went out and bought all new stuff like a playmat and a swing, and I'm at first confused because we have that stuff, just to realize she's buying stuff for her house. Im just really creeped out by it all, I'm not sure this is normal, or healthy. I could see if she was going to have the baby, but lo is bf, which I plan on doing for at least 6 months. Even if I were to drop her off (which is a waste when I have a sister who lives 10 mins away) it would be for a shorter period of time, definitely not over night. I like ny baby and look forward to watchingher develop so iI'm definitely keeping her close. Dh thinks his moms being cute, and I dont..
