MIL is trying to make me formula feed.

So I am a FTM and my baby is now three weeks old. Ever since I was pregnant she kept telling me I was going to formula feed. Her logic is that she had a hard time breastfeeding and so did her kids so she just gave them formula because it was easier. Im very pro breastfeeding and my baby has been getting exclusively breast milk since birth. However even now she still says I need to go buy an organic formula and feed it to him because I will like it so much more.


Ive tried explaining to her multiple times how important it is to me that he is only getting breast milk and that it is stressful enough without her trying to force formula feeding on me. She was making me so upset about it that my supply actually dropped for about three days.


She also recently has been trying to get me to give him a pacifier. I am very against pacifiers and shes known that. Any time my baby makes even the smallest cry she tells me that giving him a pacifier will make him be quiet. I keep thinking "all babys cry!" Im not going to give him a pacifier just to shut him up. Every time I disagree with her on something she just laughs and rolls her eyes and says her way is easier.


To top it off my boyfriend and I live with his parents so I have to deal with this every day. Ive sat her down before explaining that he is my child and that she needs to respect my choices for him and she swore she wouldn't interfere and yet she is! Idk what else to do
