As much as I would like MIL or my mom to be passable babysitters for DS like normal fucking grandmothers, they're not, for their own sseparate reasons. They both love the kid and live in town and would love to babysit, but my mom goes rogue and doesn't attempt to follow my instructions or call when she has questions and MIL is an alcoholic. FIL is delightful and respectful and DS looooves him, but he lives with MIL and isn't interest in babysitting on his own and hurting her feelings. My dad live in a different state.
I know a lot of y'all have CO close family - do you just never have an overnight babysitter? DH and I won a free night + brunch in a fancy hotel, but we have no one to spend the night with DS. What do you guys do?
