This is not a family situation, more of a work one. I want privacy when delivering ds in a few months.
I understand that coworkers care and are interested in my baby. I also consider my coworkers to be my second family and I wouldn't want anyone losing their job because they violated HIPPA. But I also want privacy! Last time I delivered there, coworkers came into my room at 8 am the morning after I delivered dd. And lots of people wanted to talk to me when I was leaving the hospital. I was exhausted and just wanted to go home!
Because I'm an employee at this hospital they will write off my hospital bill after insurance pays, so it really doesn't make sense for me to deliver anywhere other than the hospital I'm employed at.
I'm already spreading the word at work that I'll be a confidential patient when admitted. But unfortunately the OB department is right next to the department I work at, people will see me go back to OB and leave, they'll probably want to talk with me? I'm considering telling my boss when I'm admitted to make sure my name's taken off the computer and physician board. Any other suggestions?
