SIL is having what I'm calling a "destination wedding". It's not to some exotic place, but it's more than halfway across the United States from where we all live. I am a bridesmaid, DH is a groomsman and LO is the flower girl. This trip will cost the 3 of us over $1,500 for the weekend when you take into account flights, car rental, hotel, then wedding expenses (gifts, etc.). So should MIL and FIL offer to pay for all this? I feel like we shouldn't have to pay considering SIL could have gotten married locally. We are new parents and can't afford to spend all this money at once. If this wasn't SILs wedding, we wouldn't have considered going.
Thoughts?
Oh and the in laws are not strapped for cash at all, so I know they could afford it and not even notice the money was gone. Not that I expect them to pay our way in life, but just this once considering the circumstances.
